Welcome to Chrysalis

Chrysalis, a new DDA in Coeur d'Alene, serves people who have very low cognitive and/or physical skills to those with extremely high skills but specific challenges. We offer classes from softskills to job training to living everyday. Respect is the key - and we believe everyone coming through our doors has the capability to learn, expand and develop...to EMERGE into something even more beautiful than what they already are!

About Us

Chrysalis' staff is made up of qualified, talented and caring experts who have more than just the 300 years of combined experience - they have a family mindset. There is a reason we do not call our clients, "clients," rather our "friends."

Developmental Therapy Classes

Journeys to Discovery (JTD) is a program that teaches independent living skills to people with intellectual disabilities. People can learn to do more things for themselves, like sewing, first aid, basic sign language, money skills, budgeting, volunteering and how to safely access the community.

Medicaid pays for these therapies. In the past 25 years we have had one raise in Medicaid reimbursement, so we are forced to rely on fundraising to make up the difference. We also take private pay clients that pay the same amount that we would get from Medicaid for this service.

To get started a person centered planning meeting is held with a Chrysalis Developmental Specialist and your Targeted Service Coordinator. At the meeting goals are discussed so that we might best meet the needs of our friends.

Therapy (classes) will be held at Chrysalis or at sites in the community.
