Job Openings at Chrysalis
If you are looking for a part-time job just for the summer where you can make a difference and be part of an amazing team, then we have the job for you!
This will be the second year that Chrysalis will be putting on a summer camp, however we have been doing this for years and truly believe in the work that we do. It is our mission to initiate emerging discoveries for children and adults with intellectual and mental health challenges.
We are looking for someone who is energetic and good with people to provide training to children with intellectual disabilities.
Provided therapies occur at one of our local schools in the Coeur d’Alene School District or out in the community and focuses on areas such as safety, social interaction, and personal self-care skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a human services field or has a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of twenty-four (24) semester credits or equivalent in a human services field: special education, education, child development, psychology, or other human services fields and have:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with the special needs’ population.
- Able to document 1040 hours of supervised experience working with children, birth to twenty-one (21) years of age who demonstrate a functional or behavioral need. Currently Chrysalis is planning on serving children 4 – 21.
- Meets the competency requirements by completing one of the following:
- A Department of Health and Welfare approved competency checklist referenced in the Medicaid Provider Handbook or
- A minimum of forty (40) hours of applied behavior analysis training delivered by an individual who is certified or credentialed to provide the training or
- Other department approved competencies as defined in the Medicaid Provider Handbook.
- Must provide transcripts to Human Resources, this can be done electronically from the institution directly to HR or with a signed/sealed paper copy of said transcripts.
- Another way that you can be approved to be an intervention specialist:
- Have a Habilitative Intervention Certificate of Completion in Idaho with an expiration date of July 1, 2019, or later, will be allowed to continue providing services as an intervention specialist as long as there is not a gap of more than three successive years of employment as an intervention specialist.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of evidence-based strategies and interventions.
- Moderate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong, reliable attendance
- Able to pass a background check and drug test
- Able to certify in CPR/FA or produce evidence of a current certificate.
- Able to provide a current driver’s license and car insurance.
Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 – 3:00. Camp begins June 15th – August 15th. There will be a training session the week prior, date to be determined.
Starting Wage: $18.50 an hour

If you have never done this before – no problem – we like to train folks!
Qualifications for this job are:
- Must be a high school graduate, have a GED or demonstrate the ability to provide services according to the service plan.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attendance
- Able to pass a background check
- Able to certify in CPR/FA or produce evidence of a current certificate
- Able to provide a current driver’s license and car insurance
- Must be 18 years of age (age will be confirmed by state ID)
- Prior to starting they have had instructions into the needs of the people they will be serving
- Demonstrate ability to provide services according to a plan of service
